A Disney vacation is certainly memorable no matter when you decide to go. However, it is always best to plan it in advance. This is especially true if you want to visit during the summer or holidays seasons. While there are dozens of benefits to thinking ahead, here are seven main reasons you should book your Disney vacation early.
1. Better Availability
Booking early gives you your best chance at getting exactly what you want for your trip. There’s nothing worse than getting your heart set on a particular detail and finding out it’s all booked up.
Book a Great Room at Your Favorite Disney Resort
Whether you’re looking for a family suite at Art of Animation or a theme park view at Grand Floridian, popular rooms sell out quickly. By booking early you can have your pick of the right room, view, and location for your family.
Book the Cruise Itinerary You Want
The same goes for cruises. Disney Cruise Line books up far in advance; if you wait until the last minute you may get stuck with staterooms out of your budget or you may miss out entirely. Search out interesting cruises early and have all the stateroom options available to you.
Get Better Dining Reservations
You can make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR’s) at Walt Disney World restaurants up to 180 days in advance and at Disneyland Resort up to 60 days in advance. Disney Resort guests even get a perk in that they can book dining for their entire trip 180 days before they arrive (non-resort guests can only book one day at a time). If you want a meal at one of the most popular restaurants, such as Be Our Guest or Blue Bayou, this is a BIG advantage. This is also true for Disney Cruise Line – you have a better chance at selecting the first dinner seating the earlier you book.
Reserve Better FastPass+ Times
Walt Disney World Resort has FastPass+, which allows guests to select FastPasses up to 60 days in advance for Disney Resort guests, or up to 30 days in advance for anyone with tickets. Advanced FastPasses can “sell out”, so be sure to get your tickets early enough to beat those dates. This will keep you from getting a 7:15pm FastPass for Peter Pan’s Flight or missing out on one for Soarin’ Around the World.
