The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival gets a lot of hype as one of the best events for adults to enjoy at Walt Disney World. But did you know that it’s also a lot of fun for the kids? Okay, maybe not the wine part, but this event includes a variety of activities that families can enjoy together. It’s the perfect place for the kids to try some new treats, learn a little bit about global cuisine, and even get a chance to don an apron. Check out some of the reasons your kids will love 2018 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival!
1) The Food (Including Kid-Friendly Dishes & Desserts)
The food at the festival booths comes in convenient kid-sized portions, although my family loves to share so we can try a little of everything. Whether you’ve got an adventurous or a picky eater, there are plenty of items that are kid approved. Here are some of my favorites:
- Piggy Wings – Flavors from Fire
- Loaded Mac ‘n’ Cheese – Active Eats
- Kalua Pork Slider – Hawai’i
- Teriyaki Chicken Bun – Japan
- Pao de Queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread) – Brazil
- Belgian Waffle – Belgium
- Maple Bacon Funnel Cake – Canada
- Banana Almond Soft-Serve Sundae – The Almond Orchard
- Croissant Doughnut – Taste Track
- Quesito (Puff Pastry with Guava Sauce) – Islands of the Caribbean
2) The Drinks (Including Non-Alcoholic Specialties)
The “wine” part of the festival is a misnomer. The festival offers a wide range of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Personally, I love when I find creative menus with mocktails and smoothies that the whole family can enjoy! Here are a few that the kids will love:
- Frozen Apple Pie – Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar
- Pancake Milkshake – Taste Track
- InfraRED – Light Lab
- Almond Breeze Strawberry Smoothie – The Almond Orchard
- Mango Lassi – India
Also be sure to check out Club Cool in Future World, where you can sample Coca-Cola products from around the world!
3) Free Concerts (Including Favorite Bands You’d Love to Share With Your Kids)
If you want to entertain the kids during your visit and sit down for a spell, check out the Eat to the Beat concert series. This year’s lineup includes 98 Degrees, Baha Men, Air Supply, Boyz II Men, and more. Admission to the evening entertainment is included with park admission.

4) Remy’s Ratatouille Hide ‘n’ Squeak Scavenger Hunt (With Fun Prizes)
Gather the family together for an exciting hunt around the World Showcase. You’ll search for Remy and take home one of four souvenir cups. It’s a great way to engage kids in the different pavilions. You can even split up into teams to see who can find all the Remy’s first!
5) Their Very Own Playground (So They Can Burn Off Energy)
Kids can easily get pent up at the parks, so check out the playground in front of Mouse Gear. It has some green space to run in and plenty of things to climb. It’s the perfect spot to head to just before dinner or a show.
6) Disney Du Jour Dance Party (Including Fun Disney Friends)
Dance with some of your favorite Disney characters on Friday and Saturday evenings during the festival. Check out guests from Radio Disney and sing along to some of your favorite tunes. It’s a fun treat for the little ones who love interacting with their animated friends.
7) Junior Chef Kitchen (So They Can Learn to Cook for You)
Do you have a budding chef in your house? Check out this complimentary activity held in the Festival Center on Sundays. Kids will dive into the kitchen and learn how to make and decorate pancakes under the guidance of a Disney chef. It’s a lot of fun for the whole family, and yes, the kids get to eat what they make!
8) Candy Sushi (Enough Said)
Not everyone loves sushi, but anyone can fall in love with candy sushi. Learn how to roll sushi-inspired sweet treats at Sunshine Seasons in this complimentary workshop. Reservations are required as space is limited, so be sure to check for availability before you go.
