It’s Military Appreciation Month! My husband serves in the U.S. Air Force, and I am always grateful for the work that he does. This life has taken us all around the country, and trust me when I say that it gets crazy sometimes. That’s why we always love to get away from our “normal” life when we can so we can focus on quality time together. I thought I’d take a few moments to put together a list of amazing Disney discounts available to military families!
1. Disney Park Ticket Discounts
There are three types of military-discounted tickets available to eligible military families:
Armed Forces Salute Tickets
These are the ticket options available for 2019 for Walt Disney World Resort:
- 5-Day Park Hopper: $257/person
- 4-Day Park Hopper: $241/person
- Park Hopper Plus Upgrade: $50/person
Note: These tickets expire on December 19, 2019 and have special restrictions. See my page on Disney for Military Families for more details.
Stars and Stripes Tickets
These are Walt Disney World tickets available only to guests of Disney Resort hotels and Shades of Green. They are offered at a discounted rate and purchased for the entire length of stay.
Military-Discounted Magic Your Way Tickets
These tickets are available in options ranging from 1-Day Base Tickets to 10-Day Park Hopper Plus Tickets. The discount is typically smaller than that of other tickets, but are great for families with longer vacations or those who need to supplement their ticket options.
2. Disney Resort Hotel Discounts
Eligible military families can save up to 40% on accommodations at Disney Resort hotels at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. These rates are offered on a limited number of rooms and are not available online. Feel free to contact me if you’d like more information on these rates.
3. Memory Maker & Disney PhotoPass Discounts
Military guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort can purchase Memory Maker for $98 in 2019, instead of the normal price of $199 at the gate. At Disneyland Resort a military-discounted PhotoPass Collection is available for $49, instead of the normal price of $79.
4. Disney Cruise Line Discounts
Disney Cruise Line offers military rates on select sailings throughout the year. They are typically announced 60-90 days before departure and are limited to 50 staterooms per category, per sailing. They’re great if you’re flexible on travel dates and you’re okay planning a trip in the near future. If you’d like more information on available rates, feel free to request a free quote!
5. Discounts at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa
Heading to Hawaii? Disney’s Aulani Resort is incredible and offers a beautiful retreat on the island of Oahu. Eligible military families can save up to 40% on accommodations at Aulani during select times of year. If you’d like more information on Aulani discounts, you can request a free quote here!
6. Special Event Ticket Discounts
If you’re planning to visit Walt Disney World for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you may be able to score a great deal on your tickets. Select dates for these parties offer a special military price.
7. Disney Springs & Downtown Disney District Discounts
While these locations are not Disney-owned and operated, you can find a few military discounts on shopping, dining, and entertainment for your trip. My personal favorites are the discounts at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ and Ghirardelli in Disney Springs. In fact, the Ghirardelli shop in Disney California Adventure is the only in-park dining location that offers a military discount.
